We will always be so grateful for the kind way you looked after us. We would, and have, recommend your services. Thank you.

They got my dads name wrong in the paperwork before the event which we raised and they apologised for, but then the celebrant said the same incorrect name during the service. That is completely unacceptable for a grieving family. When I raised the issue I was ignored for a few weeks and when I kept pushing they then finally looked into it. The chap calling me rarely let me finish a sentence and was not super helpful. It has never been fully resolved. This is expensive generally and then they didn't even fulfil their role in supporting a family through this unpleasant provess. Would not recommend.

Highley recommended, first class professional service. Paul was such a pleasure to work with. Roy was courteous and very respectful.

We highly recommend Martin & Sons Funeral Directors, with particular mention to Susan, who was our main point of contact there. Despite other demands on their time, we were made to feel as if we were the only family they were working with, that they had all the time in the world for us and that nothing was too much trouble. As well as their attentive and always highly empathetic approach with us, they were also incredibly efficient and professional in all their dealings with us; always responding to our communications quickly and meeting their every promise. They suggested that Celebrant, Jim Maltby would be a good "fit" for us and they were absolutely right. We can't imagine any other Celebrant would have been better for the job. Again, his dealings with us were highly professional but he struck the perfect balance between efficiency and lightness in his communications with us ...both approaches much appreciated. Like Martin & Sons, we felt as if Jim was fully focused on us alone and our needs. He engaged fully with us and he had a real understanding of the nature of our family, our likes, our "personality", what makes us tick and what makes us laugh, to such an extent that people who viewed the service online asked if he was a family member or friend! (Poor Jim ...we wouldn't wish that on him!) Turning to the service itself, we have a belief that things that are meticulously planned in advance appear to be absolutely effortless on the day and that's how the proceedings went at the cremation service. Everything was seamless and gentle; nothing jarred or jolted and everything seemed to "unfold" at a gradual, perfect pace. When we needed direction, Jim and Matthew from Martin & Sons were there for us. When we needed privacy, they seemed to disappear and blend into the background. It was all exactly what our grieving family needed. They were so reverent and caring that we didn't need to think of anything else but for our sad farewell. Susan and the rest of the team at Martin & Sons, together with Celebrant Jim and the staff at West Suffolk Crematorium, worked hard on our behalf and were incredibly kind to us. We are grateful for everything they did over a time of immense loss. It's hard to lose the head of a family and a deeply loved man but because of their help, we can say without hesitancy that our Dad would have been very, very proud of his family in recent weeks and at the service ...thanks in no small part to the support Martin & Sons and the 3rd parties they work with, gave us.
