My family loved staying at Almond Cottage. It was spotlessly clean, and it was clear that a lot of love and thought had went into the design and all the nice little touches that made it feel so homely. We stayed with our 2-year old who slept well in the travel cot that was provided (there is space for a cot next to the bed in the back bedroom). The village is quite special; peaceful and full of history, and had everything we needed. There are a lot of places to visit in the surrounding areas too including our favourite, Lavenham, which was a Harry Potter film location! Highly recommend staying here if you can.

Comfortable, attractive and well-equipped cottage in the centre of Clare. We had no trouble finding an on-street parking space just a few yards down the road.

Almond Cottage was a lovely place for our short break. It's a lovely character cottage that has been decorated perfectly with lots of nice little touches. All areas are comfortable and beds were very comfy, even down to the little garden that was great to catch a few rays. Nicely appointed bathroom with lovely shower. Sarah has presented the cottage with a high finish and retains the character whilst still remaining comfortable. She was the perfect host and responded quickly to any questions we had. Clare is a nice little village with a square , a few pubs, restaurants, church and nice park with historical ruins, we found it an ideal base to spend some time there and also visit family in Norfolk. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt very at home and we will definitely be back to visit again. Highly recommended Stuart

Almond cottage is a wonderful stay , because the owners have put much thought it to its 400 year life. The choice of decor has made this ancient cottage feel modern, warm and welcoming. The finer touches are , you are welcomed with a tray of tea and coffee bags and a pint of milk. For colder months the sofa and chair have beautiful blankets you can snuggle in. The beds are so comfortable and the duvets are so warm and just hug you. Towels, dishwasher tablets , washing up liquid , it’s all there. The shower is lovely, I love staying at Almond cottage.

Myself and my partner had the loviest few days at Almond Cottage in November. Sarah was a great host and nothing was too much trouble. The cottage was so clean and beautifully decorated. We felt extremely at home. Fantastic location and everything was within walking distance. We went on some great walks through castle park and ventured up to the local brewery for a few. Can’t wait to return, hopefully in the next couple of months. Thanks so much!!

Beautiful cottage in and ideal location. The decor inside the property was of such a high standard with the small attention to details that made the cottage cosy and homely. Lovely pubs near by for food and gorgeous bakery on the doorstep for breakfast and coffee. Would definitely return.

Great location. Really well appointed cottage. Extensive local information provided by the owner. My wife and I have over the years, booked lots of cottages in the UK for walking holidays and this is probably the best.
